FOREIGN FILM NIGHT: Kon Tiki

In the new 2012 action-packed film based on true events from 1947, Norwegian adventurer Thor Heyerdahl sails from Peru on a balsa-wood raft to prove that South Americans originally colonized the South Sea Islands. Despite his fear of water and inability to swim, Heyerdahl set sail on an unpredictable journey with only a radio, the stars, and the ocean currents to help navigate. Local film buffs Steven Schreier and Tom Jerow will present the film, facilitate discussion, and answer any questions.
