The Stories beneath the Stones Cemetery Walk: An Historical Reflection of Six Pioneers of the Area

Attendees will visit six gravesites located in close proximity in the older section of the cemetery. Historical presentations will be given at each gravesite by local volunteers including Leon Buckshot Anderson, Callie Bates, Sharon Cook, Charley Helfert, Tom Jerow, and Bill Rutherford. The presentation at each gravesite will last about 7 minutes with a total tour time of one hour. Attendees should be prepared to be walking and standing for at least an hour. The cemetery is fairly level, but comfortable walking shoes are suggested. No tours will begin after 7 pm.

Parking will be available along the shoulder of the driveway which encircles and crosses the cemetery and along the shoulder of County Highway W. In case of rain, a “virtual tour” will be held in the Presque Isle Community Center from 7:00-9:00 pm.
